About Me – Mohamed Abubakar Ismail
I serve as the Director of Space and Satellite at the Ministry of Communication and Technology, Federal Republic of Somalia. My work focuses on advancing Somalia’s national space program, policy development, satellite applications, and digital innovation — all aimed at enhancing communication, disaster response, agriculture, and connectivity.
At the Africa Internet Governance Forum 2025, I am particularly interested in discussions around:
Digital infrastructure and connectivity in underserved regions
Data governance, satellite internet, and space-based digital solutions
Public-private partnerships for digital transformation
Regional collaboration in tech policy and spectrum management
Please feel free to talk to me about Space technology for digital inclusion, Somalia's digital and satellite ambitions, or any opportunities for collaboration on internet governance, infrastructure sharing, and data sovereignty across Africa.
Let’s connect and work together for a smarter and more connected continent.
