Abdul-Hakeem Ajijola, a globally recognized cybersecurity expert ranked #1 on IFSEC's 2020 list of Global Cybersecurity influencers, holds several leadership positions and has extensive involvement in cyber diplomacy. His roles include Chair of the African Union Cyber Security Expert Group and pioneer Chair for the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise's Working Group “B” on Cyber Incident Management. He also contributes to the UN Office on Disarmament Affairs and UN Digital Emblem Project, provides expertise to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and organizations across multiple continents. In Nigeria, Abdul-Hakeem has played significant roles in cybersecurity and data policy, serving as Chair for the Nigeria Data Protection Bureau Strategic Action Plan and Roadmap, Nigerian National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy, and Nigeria Computer Society's Cybersecurity Advisory Group. He has also contributed to the development of the National Broadband Plan and has advised the Nigerian Senate Committee on Cybersecurity and ICT. An accomplished scholar, he has participated in Harvard University's Executive Program on Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy, as well as other prestigious programs in the USA and Malaysia.
